Upgrading
#1
Hey,

I've been wondering.. does it really matter what Level/Class you play when upgrading?

Example: Lvl 48 Monk (Upgrade Skill 4) Vs 90+ Warrior (Also Upgrade Skill 4)
Would the Warrior have a better chance at upgrading ? or is it only the upgrade skill that counts?

Been wondering that for a while, because people always use monks for upgrading...

Any info on that would be great Tongue
Thanks.

Doesnt matter class/level/stats those are just Kabalas
in OBT i had  lvl 110 monk with pure INT and it was the same than sin lvl 52 with normal stats lol
i just still use a monk to do that job coz its classic xD

Wait for developer comment Tongue

Well I think this is a matter or debate. Most of the ppl use monk as upgraders and they try to lvl them up a bit. Mages come as second, then sins and warriors.
I am a mage in sin GUNG, so I didn't took upgrade skills as sin, but when I was mage I did and I was a pretty good upgrader. After I went sin I made a monk lvl 50 for upgrading, because no one sells +9 items for sins :Big Grin . then I made my +9 set from +7 with this monk. i used normal ups from +7 to +8. I think I used in total like 40 or more ups because 3 items broke when trying (well 1 broke because I tried to +9). Also used like 30 or 35 ssx from +8 to +9. I will appreciate  if some higher lvl upgrader will share a similar experience in making a +9 set; just to see if there is a difference.

It doesn't matter. I know a few who do all of their upgrading with a warrior. Same result. It's all about luck. To have only 3 pieces break going from +7-8 is extremely lucky lol.

IDK.. maybe I am just paranoid; but I usually try doing upgrades in odd placed. I avoid VV (too much lag); I usually get fine upgrade rate in casino and OC on high ground. I always look for a high ground when upgrading. Like I said.. paranoia.. but it works for me.

Hmm, thanks for the opinions.

So I suppose Class / Level doesn't matter, and it's just 100% luck based.
Aswell as go to low-populated/non-crowded places (Towns other than VV).

Class and status point placement have absolutely nothing to do with your success rate while upgrading.

IDK about luck.. When you do set upgrading, you will notice that some will upgrade with few ups and some will fail like crazy, but overall it is the same amount of ups needed. We talk about luck when doing only 1 item.. but when you do 10 items.. then luck doesn't count.

I also noticed that items tend to higher grade of fail as they go higher in lvl. Maybe it was the "luck" but I did a +9 weap lvl 18 with only 15 or so ups and no ssw; But for a +8 item lvl 100+ you may use more ups.. specially if it breaks Big Grin

The Class and stat thing came from the original Korean Server. That was actually a thing back then. It was even transposed originally on Karma server early on. by the time Pandora server merge happened that aspect was long gone.
